To give an example: For Cockroach Control purposes, Rentokil India offers an option of gel baiting. The advantages of this method are:
- Lesser pesticide load on the environment – Due to the gel’s longer shelf life, the number of treatments can be minimal, usually in frequency of 3 month period.
- Domino Effect – The lesser gel requirement is also because Rentokil understands cockroach behaviour. The gel not only eliminates the cockroach feeding on the bait, but other cockroaches feed on the droppings, vomitus and the dead body of the affected cockroach, thus bringing in a domino effect. Again, lesser pesticide load on the environment too.
- Safe to Humans – Rentokil’s gel has a high LD50, which implies very low toxicity for humans, and also for your pets. It will need to be in kilograms, for the gel to be lethal, but what you see applied in your kitchen are small dots of the gel.
